I do most of my banking via the web or by going directly to the ATM, so Beverly Coop, with it's free online checking and SUM ATM membership, fits my needs perfectly. The few times I've needed to actually interact with someone in the bank, they've been very friendly and curteous. They also offer the onsite services of notary public to bank customers for free, which has come in useful many times.
The only downside is that they are small and therefore do not have rates as competitive as larger banks.

I have a completely free checking account. I pay no monthly fees, no check fees, nothing. Their online bill paying and transfer system is so easy to use and also completely free. The bank is open 7 days and a week and the staff is friendly, courteous and they keep a basket of lollipops on the counter. What more could you want?
